Consumer Advocacy's First Blog
Welcome to the www.ConsumerAdvocacy.com blog. From the outset, I want you to understand that we appreciate you visiting our site, and hope to provide you with quality, hard hitting information about consumer protection, consumer advocacy and the 2012 campaigns.
As such, I want you to know upfront that this website is designed to accomplish 3 things.
1) To get people like you, the reader, educated, involved and active in the legislative and political processes.
2) To collect, provide and report directly to you about consumer protection issues and actual candidate positions.
3) To get all political parties to adopt Consumer Protection Planks as part of their Party Platform.
I guess that means that it’s now time for me to introduce myself. My name is Michael Ross, site owner, California native and Registered Legislative Advocate (Feb, 2012 will mark my 35th year in Sacramento) and Educator (since 2004). Since starting out as an intern, I have worked in a variety of offices, on a variety of landmark bills, represented a cast of unique clients and have created or expanded a series of fun, exciting and interesting public policy areas. The one common theme that all of my activities have is this: The issues affect consumers, the products they use and concepts affecting their purse, wallet or purchasing power. Recognized, affable, intellectual and looking for a challenge, I specialize in consumer protection issues, not just facing society today, but tomorrow.
With that out of the way, I can now get down to the fun stuff and introduce you to my blog. This blog is designed to provide you with insight and information about political positions that affect consumer protection. That means we will be analyzing bills, talking to politicians and asking hard questions of candidates, with answers (or lack thereof) that will be published here. Additionally, we firmly believe that all of America’s political parties should and must contain a plank in their 2012 Platforms outlining their positions on specific issues. This is something that is long overdue.
Currently, we have not specified the issues, but are working on the criteria and parameters. That means we are open to ideas. So, if you have one, send it my way – I can be contacted personally by email: ssorleahcim@comcast.net
Additionally, because our time is so valuable, we promise to provide you with quality, researched information that’s short, sweet and direct. In fact I hope that we’ll be able to provide you with regular information that gets our thoughts across to you in 3 minutes or less – not every time, but most of the time.
On that note, it’s closing time for my first blog. Thank you very much for visiting and reading what I have to say. I look forward to sharing ideas with you often!
Michael Ross, J.D.
P.S. If you have any thoughts, feelings or suggestions that I can help you with or that will make this site and column better, please do not hesitate to contact me personally at: ssorleahcim@comcast.net
